Speaking at CinemaCon 2025, Affleck expressed his enthusiasm for reprising the role, stating, “It does feel great to continue the story of ‘The Accountant.’ I’m thrilled to be playing this part again with this great cast. In some ways, I feel like this character never left me.” ​

The sequel brings back familiar faces, including Jon Bernthal as Braxton “Brax” Wolff, Christian’s estranged but equally formidable brother. Their on-screen chemistry is set to delve deeper into the complex dynamics of sibling relationships. Director Gavin O’Connor emphasized the emotional depth of their interactions, aiming to explore themes of connection and vulnerability amidst the action-packed narrative. ​’

New to the cast is Daniella Pineda, portraying Anaïs, a character who promises to bring her own brand of intensity to the film. Pineda hinted at her character’s prowess, stating, “I do have some pretty brutal fight scenes that will look awesome on your screens.” ​

Affleck noted, “It did not come easy for me, especially with a guy like Jon who’s so spectacular at it.” ​

He explained, “We made the deal to write the next movie in 2018, and it was just, I don’t know, whatever dysfunction goes on in studios these days.” ​

Despite these obstacles, the team remained committed to continuing Christian Wolff’s story.
