Robert Pattinson Dune 3 rumors are already stirring serious hype as director Denis Villeneuve reportedly has his eye on the actor for a key role in Dune: Messiah.
While the script is still being finalized and the summer shoot is approaching fast, sources close to the production told Variety that Pattinson is being considered for a part in the next chapter of the sci-fi epic. So far, there’s no official offer on the table, and it’s still a mystery who Pattinson would play if cast. Legendary, the studio behind the Dune franchise, has not commented.
This would be a major get for Villeneuve’s star-stacked universe, which already includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Florence Pugh, and Austin Butler. Interestingly, Pattinson recently co-starred with Zendaya in A24’s upcoming film The Drama, possibly giving them some on-screen chemistry Villeneuve might want to explore further.
Pattinson’s schedule has been packed lately. He’s currently filming Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated adaptation of The Odyssey, and he’s also tied up with Warner Bros. as the lead in The Batman franchise, with The Batman Part II slated for a 2027 release. That said, he’s shown time and again that he can juggle big projects – and Dune would definitely be another jewel in his sci-fi crown if this works out.
While this is still early talk and not official casting news, fans are already speculating wildly about what role Pattinson might take on in Dune: Messiah. Given the scope and depth of Frank Herbert’s universe, there are plenty of potential characters he could bring to life. Whether it’s a charismatic leader, a calculating rival, or someone totally unexpected, it’s safe to say the casting would generate a ton of buzz.
