Ed Sheeran doesn’t just sing hits – he collects Hollywood history. The Grammy-winning singer has revealed he’s trying to buy George Clooney’s original Batman costume from the 1997 film Batman & Robin.
Appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, Ed casually dropped the bomb:
“I’m trying to get the George Clooney Batman costume… I bought the Alicia Silverstone Batwoman outfit, so it would be matching.”
Yep, he’s serious.
This isn’t a new hobby. Every year on his birthday, Ed gifts himself an iconic film prop. He’s previously splashed out on C-3PO from Star Wars, Robin Williams’ Peter Pan outfit from Hook, and even Julia Roberts’ Tinker Bell costume. His home in Suffolk, England isn’t just an estate – it’s a memorabilia maze, complete with its own tunnel-turned-cinema and “man catacomb” for his rare collectibles.
“I built a listening room, and there’s a cinema,” Ed said. “I collect movie props, too, so I’ve got all of that there.”
The birthday Batman hunt is just the latest addition to his growing movie museum.
But despite the rockstar lifestyle, Ed’s made some major changes since becoming a dad to daughters Lyra and Jupiter, whom he shares with wife Cherry Seaborn.
“Just not being a f***ing maniac with drink and drugs or smoking,” he admitted. “I exercise now. I get up in the morning… I’m home more, and my work schedule is based around [my kids].”
And as for Cherry? She’s the reason he doesn’t go full Richie Rich.
“I tried to build a bowling alley in our backyard, and she was like, ‘Come on man…’ She doesn’t want our kids growing up like that.”
Between blockbuster props and a grounded home life, Ed Sheeran is clearly living the dream – just with a few more capes and droids than most of us.
