Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are stepping back from the spotlight, but not from each other. According to new reports, the couple is planning to keep a much lower profile during the upcoming NFL season.
Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss in February, both Travis and Taylor have reportedly agreed to stay out of the public eye to help him fully focus on football. An insider told the Daily Mail that Kelce is going “all in” this season and doesn’t want distractions. Swift, for her part, is “all about it,” supporting his decision to shift gears.
Sources say the couple realized that the overwhelming public attention wasn’t always helping them. After Kelce’s performance in the Super Bowl sparked speculation that his relationship with Swift was a distraction, the backlash from Swift’s fanbase made things even more intense. While Kelce never blamed Taylor publicly, the online commentary got loud enough to spark this course correction.
This doesn’t mean the two are on the rocks. On the contrary, the insider noted that the relationship is “going great.” The difference now is they’re not going to be everywhere all the time. Less paparazzi shots, fewer joint appearances, and a whole lot more behind-the-scenes support.
There’s another layer here, too. Kelce is reportedly “heavily leaning toward retirement” after this season. If that’s true, this could be his final shot at another Super Bowl ring. He’s said to be training harder, staying focused, and intentionally avoiding any unnecessary drama. “He wants to be the reason the Chiefs make it back,” the insider shared.
For Swift, who’s coming off a blockbuster year with her Eras Tour and upcoming album release, the timing might just work. She’s allegedly okay with skipping games and being more private, especially if it means keeping the relationship solid while Kelce wraps up his career on his own terms.
So no, don’t expect Swift in the VIP box every Sunday. But according to sources, she’s still very much in his corner, just a little further from the cameras this time.
As always, the media spotlight will follow them no matter what. But for now, it sounds like Swift and Kelce are focused on one thing: tuning out the noise and making their moves off the field.
