Is a Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40,000 Crossover on the Horizon?

A Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40K crossover might actually be in the cards – and fans are already losing it.

Arrowhead Game Studios, the team behind Helldivers 2, has been tossing around ideas internally for bringing Warhammer 40K into their co-op shooter universe. Production director Alex Bolle recently told IGN that Warhammer is something the devs are “in love with,” and while nothing’s confirmed yet, the hype inside the studio is very real.

Arrowhead already dipped into crossover territory before, teaming up with Guerrilla Games for a Killzone nod. But this time, they’re dreaming even bigger. Bolle says their developers are not just game makers – they’re also fans who actively push for crossovers they’d personally love to play. And Warhammer? It’s right up there on their wishlist.

Still, there’s a bit of caution in the mix. Bolle explained that any crossover needs to stay true to the Helldivers universe. So even if something wild like a Warhammer 40K drop happens, it’s gotta fit their vibe. That said, he admits it’s “fun” to explore other IPs and figure out how they could mesh with Helldivers’ style of chaotic, immersive action.

What really makes this exciting is that Arrowhead seems genuinely interested in fan reactions. They’re teasing just enough to fuel speculation without dropping hard confirmations. And considering how pumped the devs sound about the potential, it wouldn’t be surprising if something official gets announced down the line.

So while we’re all in the “maybe” phase right now, the possibility of a Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40,000 crossover is definitely being talked about—and that alone is enough to stir the internet.
