Scottie Scheffler is coming into the 2025 Masters with one clear message – he’s never felt more ready.
The two-time Masters champion is brushing off the distractions, including a bizarre hand injury he picked up while cooking over Christmas, and is fully focused on defending his title at Augusta this week. According to Scheffler, this is the most prepared he’s felt all season, and he’s locked in on chasing his third Green Jacket.
Speaking to reporters, Scottie Scheffler said, “I feel very prepared for this golf tournament. This is definitely the most prepared that I’ve felt all year.” That’s a bold statement from the current world number one, who’s already proven he can handle the pressure at Augusta. He’s won twice in the last three years, but he’s not relying on past victories to carry him this week.
“Last year means nothing,” Scheffler admitted. “Let’s say I get off to a bad start on Thursday, and I can use some stuff that I’ve done here the past few years as confidence to kind of turn things around. But at the end of the day, when I step on there on Thursday, we’re at even par, and it’s a totally new golf tournament.”
That mindset says a lot. Even though he’s not putting up the same eye-popping wins as last season, Scheffler’s game is still in solid form. He’s choosing to trust his instincts over numbers, leaning heavily on feel rather than focusing too much on scorecards or stats. “I lean more on my feel than the results a lot of the time,” he said. “I think sometimes you can feel when you’re really close and you can feel when you’re pretty far off, and a lot of times it doesn’t exactly align with the scores.”
