Brittany Cartwright can’t forgive Jax Taylor for making their breakup harder than it had to be.
The Vanderpump Rules alum says Jax refused to move out of their home for months after they split, even though she begged him to leave so their 4-year-old son Cruz – who has autism – could stay in his “safe space.”
Speaking to People, Brittany didn’t hold back. “Jax would not leave for seven months,” she said. “I had to move from rental to rental, even though I offered him the ones I paid for. He still wouldn’t budge.”
Their official separation happened in February 2024, but for most of that year, Brittany says she was the one constantly moving, dragging Cruz with her – something that deeply upset her. “Cruz was born in this house. He’s got his pool, his swing set, his playroom. It’s his space. I’ll never forgive Jax for doing that to us,” she said. “When you have a kid with autism, they shouldn’t be the ones moving around.”
What’s worse, Brittany believes Jax only moved out when filming started for their new reality series The Valley. “I think he realized the cameras were about to catch him making us leave. That’s probably the only reason he finally did it. Not because he cared – but because of how it would look on TV,” she said.
Now that he’s gone and she’s back in the home with Cruz, Brittany says they’re not going anywhere. “I’m not putting her up for sale. This is my house now. I’m doing this on my own,” she added proudly.
She made it clear Jax isn’t contributing financially either. “Let me make that clear – he doesn’t help me at all with any of my bills,” Brittany said. “But I’m a girl from Kentucky who made this happen. I’m proud I’m holding it down solo.”
