Swifties may be feeling the FOMO, but Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are nowhere near the desert this year for Coachella.
Unlike 2024, when the couple made headlines for their surprise appearance at Coachella alongside Ice Spice, they’ve decided to skip the 2025 festivities altogether, and it’s not because they weren’t invited.
According to a source who spoke with Page Six, the superstar couple is taking a well-earned breather from the spotlight. Swift wrapped up her massive Eras Tour in December 2024, while Kelce’s NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs ended in February after a tough Super Bowl loss. Now? They’re lying low and loving it.
“A lot of their time is spent at home just relaxing,” said the insider. “Despite their fame, they’re really just like any other couple.” And this downtime isn’t just a break, it’s a deliberate “escape,” according to the source.
Apparently, both Taylor and Travis are leaning into some rare normalcy after a whirlwind year. No cameras. No red carpets. Just movie nights, workouts, and quiet weekends. “This time away from the spotlight has been so refreshing,” the source added. “They really cherish this while they can.”
And considering how intense their schedules usually are, it makes sense. Taylor has been in nonstop tour mode, and Kelce’s off-season isn’t exactly a vacation, especially with the media frenzy around their relationship.
Back in 2024, Kelce talked about their Coachella outing on his New Heights podcast. He and Taylor opted to watch from the pit instead of some VIP enclosure, because they “wanted to experience it like real fans.” That vibe? Fun, spontaneous, and totally unbothered by celebrity status.
Fast forward to 2025, and the energy is different. The couple is choosing quiet over chaos, rest over rave. Coachella just didn’t make the cut.
Fans hoping for a mid-festival Swift sighting might be disappointed, but it’s clear the two are prioritizing themselves right now. And honestly? Good for them.
They’ve been spotted together recently in Montana and other lowkey locations, doing their thing without the paparazzi in tow. For a relationship that’s constantly under the microscope, these kinds of breaks are probably essential.
Will we see them pop up for Coachella’s second weekend? Doubtful. But when you’ve got a multi-Grammy-winning girlfriend and a Super Bowl ring, missing a music festival doesn’t seem like the biggest deal.
For now, Swift and Kelce are just enjoying the rare chance to be regular. And we can’t blame them one bit.
